Then There's You is a track in Charlie's debut studio album Nine Track Mind. It was released on January 29, 2016. Produced by Carolina Liar, Puth worked with Swedish singer and record producer, Max Martin, to make the song. 
Charlie told iHeartRadio -

"Then There’s You is a record I worked on with Max Martin, who is like the Pop God of the world. I needed to have one pop-y record on this album. I grew up listening to Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, and I couldn’t have a debut album without having something done by Max Martin. I was so happy he jumped on this. 'There’s no words to express when you’re wearing that dress that way, there’s no words to describe let me look in your eyes and say. There’s beautiful and then there’s you.' You can’t find the word to say it."

The song was written by Carolina Liar, Puth and Ross Golan. Various instruments such as tambourine, synthesizer, piano, and guitars, were played by Johan Carlsson. The strings were recorded and edited by Mattius Bylund. The backing tracks were made by Ross Golan, Carlsson and Puth. The track was heavily worked on, producing a nice and smooth tune.
